WORD for Teens BEAT for Teens Graphics About Me

Inside a dog, it's too dark to read...

If you know me - and, reading this, you either could or you could not, but I can't tell - you know I'm a bibliophile.

bibliophile (n)
  • a person who loves or collects books

My definition of bibliophile leans more towards the "loves" part - though I have over 300 books in my room, I most definietley don't collect them. All those ARC's (Advanced Reading Copies) from my blog tend to pile up after a while.

Oh! My blog! See that nice little clicky button under "Books" that says WORD for Teens (http://wordforteens.blogspot.com)? Yeah, that's my blog. WORD stands for Worthy Of Reading and Discussing and, I must admit, it's rather awesome. All of the information about WORD is on, well, WORD, so feel free to check it out! (And follow me. Because having followers makes me feel like a cult leader.)

There is so much to my love of books...

But you always just have to keep reading.

DragonRiders of PernMy Favorite Books
You just had to ask me that, didn't you? At least you didn't ask me what my favorite book was.
The DragonRiders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey [[Series]]
Sci-fi and great charries and dragons, oh my!
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead [[Series]]
Hot vampires... kick ass characters... well written series = *love*
The Queen Geek Social Club by Laura Preble [[Series]]
It's like me and my friends, but improved. And with a robot.
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling [[Series]]
... duh.
Freedom's Landing by Anne McCaffrey [[Series]]
One of my other favorite series of her, but it's hard to explain...
The Lost Years of Merlin by T.A. Barron [[Series]]
It's just an awesome fantasy series. And the author's super nice.
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer [[Series]]
Seriously. Who doesn't love that criminal mastermind?
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer [[Series]]
Described by myself as being "the crack of books". Not great, not even good, but so addicting.
A Little Bit Wicked by Kristin Chenoweth
Hello. It's Kristin Chenoweth. Need I say more?
Wicked by Gregory Maguire
Yes, I do love the Broadway show better, but the book is undoubtedly amazing.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
The old fashioned style of writing annoys me so bad, but the story is good enough to make up for it.

My Favorite Authors
And we can't forget the authors! Where would books be if they didn't have authors!?
Actually, they wouldn't exist, but that's besides the point.
So here they are. Nicki's list of authors who she will read all of their books.

Anne McCaffrey [[site]]
By far my favorite author of all time. Does it even need explaining?
Eoin Colfer [[site]]
He wrote Artemis Fowl, but he's written numerous other awesome things as well. His writing style is unique and he gives different voices to every character he writes.
Stephenie Meyer [[site]]
Yes, Twilight is the crack of books. However, The Host was also brilliantly written, and she does put a rather unique spin on any situation.
Laura Preble [[site]]
So far, she's only written The Queen Geek Social Club, but that was enough to make me want to read anything she writes.
Megan McCafferty [[site]]
Her Sloppy Firsts series didn't make it into my favorites because I wouldn't go out and buy them, but I do positively adore them. She really manages to get into the minds of her characters.
Sure, their are some names missing from this list, but I have a bad memory. ^^ [[back to top]]
